Energy Performance Certificate
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) tells you how energy efficient a home is on a scale of A-G. The most efficient homes - which should have the lowest fuel bills - are in band A.
The Certificate also tells you, on a scale of A-G, about the impact the home has on the environment. Better-rated homes should have less impact through carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
Domestic Energy Assessor
As you will be aware, it is a requirement of the Housing Act 2004 that, prior to placing a home on the market for sale or rental, the person responsible for its marketing must make available to potential buyers / tenants an Energy Performance Certificate.
This Certificate is produced following an inspection by a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), who is registered with a Government approved scheme.
